Illinois (19,180 & 677) reported its second highest daily total of deaths thus far, 81. The Governor says they are seeing a flattening of the curve, but cautions against complacency.
The much touted 15-minute rapid tests produced by Abbott are not hit making their mark. Except for Detroit, which has bought many devices and cartridges for itself, most states only received 15 devices and 120 cartridges (one cartridge per test). That’s 120 total tests per state, which is nothing when compared to the 136,000+ tests done today.
San Francisco’s Department of Public Health, together with researchers and students from UCSF, will start doing contact tracing and testing. Massachusetts and some Texas counties have started doing some contact tracing already.
